Foster Care Colorado
Welcome to Kids Crossing, Inc.,
a
private, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) Child Placement Agency providing foster care and group home care in Colorado. We have foster care offices in Denver, Pueblo and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Find out more about foster care in Colorado by coming to one of our monthly open houses in Colorado Springs or click here for a foster care brochure!
Kids Crossing was founded BY foster parents, FOR foster parents. Jan and
Larry Faubion started the agency in 1992 inspired by a special little girl named Punkin. Click here to learn more about Punkin! Since that time, we have grown
phenomenally, thanks to the commitment of our outstanding foster parents. Click here for some interesting facts about Kids Crossing!
Kids Crossing now has
offices, foster care homes and group homes in Colorado Springs, Denver and Pueblo and is the largest Child Placement Agency in Colorado. Because of our more than 130 amazing foster parents, we were able to serve more than 600 children in 2009--and usually around 220 children are placed in Kids Crossing homes throughout the State of Colorado!
We
attribute our growth to a core of caring, nurturing foster parents, dedicated professional staff and Board of Directors. Kids Crossing serves children from ages 0-18 (sometimes until age 21 depending on the child's needs).
In addition to foster care for children who have been victims of abuse and neglect, we also serve children with developmental and medical needs,
teen moms and their babies, teens, and children with a
wide range of other individual needs. Our goal is to reunify children and teens with their biological parents or other family members. When reunification cannot safely occur, children and teens are in need of permanency through adoptive homes. Our foster parents have a wide variety
of skills and specialties. We also license specialized group facilities and have 10 group facilities along the Front Range. Whether you are considering foster care or becoming a group facility, Kids Crossing offers extensive support throughout the process as you pursue licensing. This support continues when you become a licensed home or facility with children and/or teens in your home. We are here for you throughout this journey!
Kids Crossing's web site serves as an informational site as well as a tool for our
current foster families, group home parents, and children. You will find information on how to be a foster parent or
become involved in some other way, like our Adopt a Child Program during our Holiday Gift Drive! Kids Crossing is always looking for
foster parents but recognize that being a foster parent is just one of the many ways you can help our children and families. Whether you are considering being a foster parent or just want to find out more about becoming involved with Kids Crossing, please come to our next "More About Kids Crossing" open house.
