foster care coloradoKids Crossing was founded BY foster parents, FOR foster parents. Jan and Larry Faubion started the agency in 1992 inspired by a special little girl named Punkin. Since that time, we have grown phenomenally, thanks in part to the commitment of our outstanding foster parents. Click here for some interesting facts about Kids Crossing.

Kids Crossing now has offices, foster care homes and group homes in Colorado Springs, Denver and Pueblo and is the largest Child Placement Agency in Colorado.  Because of our 130 amazing foster parents, we were able to serve more than 600 children in 2007--and usually around 240 children at anyone time are placed in Kids Crossing homes all throughout the State of Colorado!

We attribute our growth to a core of caring, nurturing foster parents, dedicated professional staff and Board of Directors. Kids Crossing serves children from ages 0-18 (sometimes until age 21 depending on the child's needs). In addition to regular foster care, we serve children with medical needs, teen moms and their babies, teens, attachment disordered children, and a wide range of other individual needs. Our foster parents have a wide variety of skills and specialties.

colorado foster careKids Crossing is the only "wraparound" Child Placement Agency in Colorado, trained by nationally known experts in the field, Vroon VanDenBerg. Our extensive training has enabled our team coordinators to "wrap" the services and support necessary around families in order to ensure their success.  Our goal is to keep families intact and although we begin working with families when their children are first placed into foster care, we immediately do whatever we can to safely return children to their moms and dads.  Kids Crossing maintains a flexible spending fund in order to be able to help families access the resources necessary to reunify with their children.  Click here to read Sally's Story of Success. We also recognize at times that reunification is not an option and for this reason, we can help facilitate adoptions as well.

denver foster careWe thank the many businesses, foundations and individuals who have enabled us to offer these emergency funds to families of children in care and the many more who have made donations (both financial and in-kind) this past year!

Kids Crossing's web site serves as an informational site as well as a tool for our current foster families and children. You will find information on how Kids Crossing works as well as information on how to be a foster parent, or become involved in some other way. Kids Crossing is always looking for foster parents but recognize that being a foster parent is just one of the many ways you can help our children and families.  Please see How You Can Help.  Whether you are considering being a foster parent or just want to find out more about becoming involved with Kids Crossing, please come to our next "More About Kids Crossing" open house.
