Children and Youth We Serve

Children in Foster Care

Children in foster care are kids first. They have their own personalities, strengths, interests, relationships, and dreams. They:

    • Range in age from newborn to 18.
    • Older youth may have the option to stay in care past age 18 while they work toward independence and their future goals.
    • May come with siblings or need help staying connected to them.
    • Have experienced hard things, but those experiences do not define them.
    • Have strengths, talents, interests, and traditions worth celebrating.
    • Need adults who are patient, caring, and willing to understand their needs.
    • Benefit from staying connected to family, friends, schools, and communities.
    • Are from your neighborhood, town or county.
    • Need opportunities to have fun, try new things, and just be kids.
    • Need caring adults who see their strengths and believe in their potential.

Kids Crossing is an agency founded BY foster parents, FOR foster parents.
