We believe children do best when they can remain connected to safe family relationships, supportive adults, schools, culture, and community. Research consistently shows that children placed with kinship families experience greater stability, less trauma, better emotional outcomes, and stronger family and cultural connections.

Kids Crossing has a different approach to supporting kinship families. Kinship placements often happen suddenly. Grandparents, relatives, and family friends are frequently asked to step in with little warning – sometimes the same day. Children may arrive with few belongings and many immediate needs.

Kids Crossing believes families should not have to wait months before receiving support. Kids Crossing provides immediate financial assistance to help families stabilize during the licensing process. There is no cost to become licensed through Kids Crossing.
