Mobile Crisis

The team is mobile and designed to respond quickly to individuals and/or families in need of crisis intervention at home or anywhere in the community. The team strives to arrive within one hour.

The team members travel to the home or location to provide on-site, professional, and supportive crisis intervention for any child or youth experiencing an emotional disturbance, interpersonal crisis or psychiatric emergency.

Services include immediate crisis intervention to de-escalate the individual or family in crisis, assess the dangerousness of the situation, and determine the risk of suicide or danger to others. The team member may provide temporary respite by taking the child or youth out of the foster home for a brief period of time – to de-escalate the situation. The team member may – if necessary – arrange for a respite placement in another foster home – and provide transportation to the other home.

When to call: – 24/7 – 365 days

Please call 911 or visit the emergency department – before contacting the mobile crisis team – if the child or youth requires immediate care for the following:

  • overdose
  • attempted or threatened suicide
  • medically unstable or is in need of lifesaving care
  • violent or aggressive behavior
TBRI

Kids Crossing has a multi-disciplinary team of staff who are trained TBRI® practitioners. TBRI® is a holistic approach that is multidisciplinary, flexible, attachment-centered, and challenging. It is a trauma-informed intervention that is specifically designed for children who come from ‘hard places,’ such as maltreatment, abuse, neglect, multiple home placements, and violence. Our practitioners work to train all staff and foster parents in our agency and guide leadership in how to create a TBRI® informed workplace. The class is also offered to all caregivers in the community who work with our in-home or clinical program and professionals who serve our community. The Support Team also offers one-on-one consultation and support to caregivers to triage specific children in their care from a TBRI perspective.
